A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to invalid addresses under the very same domain. For instance, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you have a hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all functionality for a certain e-mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it will take literally just a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one single address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
