In case emails are an indivisible component of your electronic communication with business partners or family members, you may be better off using an email with your own personal domain
and a provider that offers support for the IMAP and POP3 email delivery protocols, rather than using a web-based email service that involves limitations with regards to the size of the attachments. In this way, you’ll be able to access your emails on any desktop or mobile device using any app – Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook, etc. With the IMAP email protocol, you will be able to examine the emails locally at your end, but they will be on the server at all times, while with POP3, all email messages will be downloaded onto the device, unless you choose a copy to be stored on the server. Also, you will be able to use a lot of other valuable options – contact groups, calendars, and so on, not to mention that if there’s a brief problem with your Internet connection, you can still view your emails since they’ll be on your desktop or handheld device.
