Spam Filters
Get familiar with e-mail spam filters, the things they do and how to activate them.
A spam filter is a piece of software that is installed on a POP3/IMAP mail server and keeps track of all incoming email messages in order to hinder any undesired ones from reaching a given mailbox. Several examples of such emails would be: offers for pills or money, false banking notices or email attachments that contain malicious code sent with the intention of infecting your computer. Email filters normally examine the content of an email and in case they detect given keywords or other dubious content, they either delete the email message or redirect it to the Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some providers combine their own filters with up-to-date databases from spam-monitoring organizations, so as to ensure higher levels of protection for their clients. Such databases include patterns, email server IP addresses and other information about spam emails recently uncovered by these organizations.
Spam Filters in Hosting
In case you decide to host your domains with our company and you pick any of our hosting, you’ll be able to activate spam filters for any email account that you set up. With several clicks in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you can switch between 5 separate security levels. If you continue to receive unsolicited bulk email messages or the email filters start preventing authentic email messages from reaching your mailbox, you can change the level just as easily. The quality of our spam detection solution is ensured by one of the most widely used filters – SpamAssassin. If you don’t want to risk skipping a legitimate message that may be flagged as spam owing to its content, you can also set up custom spam filters based on the body, the sender or the subject of the email message and forward the emails to some other mailbox where you can read them later.
